A subsidiary of government-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) was established in 1934 by the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, now known as the British Petroleum Company and Chevron Corporation.
The Company activities had extended to include exploration operations, on-shore and off-shore surveys, drilling of test wells, and developing of producing fields in addition to crude and natural gas exploration. Since 1938, oil was found in commercial quantities in the Burgan Field. In June 1946, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Amir of Kuwait, inaugurated the export of the first crude shipment.
New fields were developed and export facilities were expanded, resulting in the construction of the North and South Piers, the Sea Island , and the Single Point Mooring. In 1975, the Kuwait Government took over 100% of the KOC.
The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation was established in 1980 to bring all state owned oil companies under one entity. KOC was devastated by the invasion in 1990. However, after liberation in 1991 and within months, production gradually returned to full capacity.
Super light crude oil was discovered at Sabriya in 2005. The discovery of the API 52 crude oil represents a big jump in the company’s exploration abilities. Gas was discovered in the deep Jurassic reservoirs at Rahiya, Mutriba, Um Niga and other fields in 2006. These discoveries fulfill a long Kuwaiti dream of becoming self-sufficient in gas which will be used for power generation.
KOC is hiring various personnel to support its expanding operations - preference are FILIPINOS (males/females) with required years of experience in Projects, or Plants/Factories, or Companies related to Industrial/Commercial, or Chemical/Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas industries, and meeting the minimum qualifications as listed below.
Selected candidates will be offered long-term employment, very attractive monthly salary (tax free) with fully furnished housing accommodation, food allowances, provided transport, free insurance and medical care, and paid vacation leaves with two-way airfare tickets every 5.5 months service for bachelor contract and every 11 months service for family status contract.
ENGINEERING - KOC
1. MATERIAL ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of materials procurement, inventory and accounting for new projects or modified projects. 6 years experience or more.
2. CONTRACT ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of contracts administration in engineering projects. 6 years experience or more.
3. HSE – SAFETY INSTRUCTORS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of training activities – theoretical and practical – related to health, safety, environment and accident prevention covering all areas in the plant. 10 years experience or more.
4. PROCESS ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of process operation and issues for all plants, including process safety and technical services. 6 years experience or more.
5. ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of environmental discipline and pollution analysis and control covering all areas in the plant. 6 years experience or more.
6. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. In-charge of electrical design works, review, specifications and coordination. 6 years experience or more.
7. MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. In-charge of mechanical design works, review, specifications and coordination. 6 years experience or more.
8. PLANNING ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of planning and coordination of engineering and maintenance works in all areas in the plant. 6 years experience or more.
9. HSE - SAFETY ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline In-charge of industrial safety and accident prevention in all areas in the plant. 6 years experience or more.
10. SENIOR PLANNERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of analytical and operational planning in petroleum reservoirs, oil production and planning. 8 years experience or more.
11. SENIOR PROGRAMMERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of Oracle developer specially in SQL-PL-SQL forms and reports in the areas of HR and financial systems applications. 6 years experience or more.
12. COST & ESTIMATION ENGINEERS
University or college degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline. In-charge of project costing, planning and coordination of petroleum exploration and production geology works. 8 years experience or more.
13. NDT & WELDING INSPECTORS
Technical-vocational diploma or higher education or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of inspections of lifting equipment, transportable cylinders, non-destructive testing and welding inspection & quality control. 3 years experience or more.
14. PROCESS - PLANT OPERATORS
Technical-vocational diploma of any course or higher education or equivalent training certificate. Plant Process Operator in accordance with standard operating procedures in petroleum or oil & gas industry. 3 years experience or more.
15. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate. In-charge of heavy equipment to load, unload or move containers to or from jetty, truck, vessel or barge. 3 years experience or more.
16. MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS
Technical/Vocational diploma in Mechanical or higher education or equivalent. Troubleshooting and Maintenance of all types of mechanical breakdown of static and rotating equipment. Have skills on interpreting technical drawings and specifications of mechanical systems, equipment and plant networks for maintenance works. 3 years experience or more.
17. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS
Technical/Vocational diploma in Electrical or higher education or equivalent. Troubleshooting and Maintenance of all types of electrical breakdown of static and rotating equipment.. Have skills on interpreting technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems, equipment and plant networks for maintenance works. 3 years experience or more.
18. INSTRUMENT TECHNICIANS
Technical/Vocational diploma in Instrument or higher education or equivalent. Troubleshooting and Maintenance of all types of instrumentation or automation breakdown. Have skills on instrument testing equipment and tools. 3 years experience or more.
19. CADET ENGINEERS - NEW/FRESH GRADUATES
University or college or technical-vocational degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Instrument, Chemical, Electronics/Communication, Computer/IT, Architecture) or related Science diploma. With or without work experience, with or without PRC license. Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation. Willing to be trained and be employed as engineering and architectural designers. Preferably not more than 28 years old.
20. JUNIOR ENGINEERS - DESIGN/SITE COORDINATORS
University or college or technical-vocational degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Instrument, Chemical, Electronics/Communication, Computer/IT, Architecture) or related Science diploma. With at least 3 years work experience in any industry. PRC license is an advantage. Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation. Willing to be trained and be employed as design engineers and project/site engineers. Preferably not more than 35 years old.
