QAPCO is a joint venture between government-owned Qatar Petroleum with an 80% share and private-owned Atofina of France holding a 20% stake. Established in 1974, QAPCO is in the business of manufacturing high quality ethylene, low density polyethylene (LDPE) and other petrochemical products.
QAPCO is currently the largest producer of LDPE in the Middle East with a capacity of 360,000 metric tons per annum (MTA), in addition to producing 525,000 MTA of ethylene and 70,000 MTA of sulphur. LPDE and ethylene products are marketed worldwide and serve more than 4,000 customers from over 70 countries in the Middle East, Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Africa, Oceania, the Americas and Europe .

2. ENGINEERING SERVICES LEADERS (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrument)
Bachelor’s degree or Technical-vocational diploma in Engineering - EE / ME / ECE / Instrument or related discipline. In-charge of project design implementation, planning and site supervision. 10 years experience or more.
3. RELIABILITY & OPTIMIZATION SPECIALISTS (Static Equipment)
Bachelor’s degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Engineering – ME / EE / ECE / Instrument or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of developing reliability program for plant asset and ensuring asset optimization in terms of operation and cost, including preventive and corrective maintenance programs. 8 years experience or more.
4. SENIOR PLANNERS (Static & Automation Equipment)
Bachelor’s degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Engineering – ME / EE / ECE / Instrument or equivalent training certificate. Supervises all Planners in scheduling, planning activities. Prepares scope of work for tendering by Contractors and evaluates Contractors’ bids. 7 years experience or more.
5. PROCESS SPECIALISTS (Safety & Environmental)
Bachelor’s degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of process safety and environmental issues for all plants, including HAZOP studies. 6 years experience or more.
WAREHOUSE / LABORATORY - QAPCO
6. SENIOR INSPECTORS (Materials Certification & Laboratory)
Technical-vocational diploma or higher education or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of inspections of lifting equipment, transportable cylinders, non-destructive testing and welding inspection & quality control. 6 years experience or more.
7. MATERIALS CONTROLLERS (Warehouse)
Technical-vocational diploma or higher education or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of materials procurement, inventory and accounting for modifications and Capex projects. 5 years experience or more.

9. INSTRUCTORS – HSSE
Bachelor’s degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Engineering – CHE / ME / EE / CE / ECE / IE or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of training activities – theoretical and practical – related to safety and fire fighting covering all areas in the plant. 5 years experience or more.
10. SAFETY AGENTS
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate with driving license. Issuance of work permits, testing of various types of safety equipment, including storages and loading activities. 5 years experience or more.
11. SHIFT FIREFIGHTING AGENTS
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate with driving license. Driving, operating and maintaining fire fighting equipment such as mobile vehicles, fire pumps, hoses, nozzles and fire trucks to combat fire, rescue lives and prevent loss or damage to property. 3 years experience or more.
12. FIREFIGHTING FOREMEN
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate with driving license. In-charge of directing fire fighting, first aid and rescue activities. 4 years experience or more.
13. SAFETY LEADERS
Bachelor’s degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Engineering – CHE / ME / EE / CE / ECE / IE or equivalent training certificate. In-charge of safe work environment for all employees, properties and contractors in the plant, assisting in safety training, audit and site inspection. 7 years experience or more.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT - QAPCO:
14. R&D LEADERS
PhD or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent training/seminar certificate. In-charge of Research and Development (R&D) tasks to create innovative technical solutions on commercialization of new grades of Polyolefin and Polymer. 5 years experience or more.
15. R&D SPECIALISTS
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent training/seminar certificate. In-charge of Research and Development (R&D) tasks toward the development of Polyolefin and Polymer products for improved performance or new applications. 5 years experience or more.
16. Q.C. POLYMER SPECIALISTS
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent training/seminar certificate. In-charge of Quality Control (QC) of Polymers, analytical, physical and chemical tests on products, including calibration of instruments and measuring equipment. 5 years experience or more.
PLANT OPERATORS - QAPCO
17. OUTDOOR OPERATORS (Process - Ethylene, Utilities, LDPE & LLDPE)
Technical-vocational diploma of any course or higher education or equivalent training certificate. Plant Operator in accordance with standard operating procedures or on instruction of Panel Operator or Shift Supervisor. 4 years experience or more.
18. CRANE OPERATORS (Heavy Crane & Straddle Carrier)
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate. In-charge of cranes to load, unload or move containers to or from jetty, truck, vessel or barge. 5 years experience or more.
19. YARD CONTROLLERS (Loading & Unloading)
Secondary (high school) graduate or higher education, or equivalent training/seminar certificate. Panel operator in-charge of directing activities of crane operators on shipment requirements, safety standards and coordinating electrical-mechanical maintenance of cranes. 6 years experience or more.
TECHNICIANS - QAPCO
